This translation of Henrik Pontoppidan's most famous novel, in its second and authoritative 1905 version, is the work in progress of the Irish translator Paul Larkin, Dublin. At the moment the work is not receiving financial support; nor does the proposed complete translation, as yet, have a publisher. Chapter 1-4 are presented here in their present state.
